My journey began in 2014 creating neat looking websites.
As I started creating sites for clients I began to seek out methods to create products focused on the entirety of the users experience.I still enjoy creating “neat” looking sites but now my focus has shifted to making design decisions centered on the user's experience.
I currently work as a product designer at Teamworks and am so excited to be working with truly talented people. We are focused on innovating some seriously cool products that will benefit our users and disrupt the industry.
Diversity in perspective elevates design.
After university I spent years traveling around the globe; making websites, bartending and creating a travel blog. I treasure this time in my life, I’ve traveled to over 30 countries and over 100 cities.I’ve spent time working at a non-profit in Thailand helping connect Lahu hill tribe people to health care, legal assistance, and funding. I later went to school in Santiago Chile to learn Spanish in an intensive program. Why is this relevant?
Focus on designing for positive change.
I grew as I immersed myself in different cultures outside of my comfort zone. My entrepreneurial spirit drove me to share my experiences and encourage people to travel by starting a travel blog. For several years I worked on building a travel blog and have experience with photography, SEO, content writing, social media and email marketing. I gained a lot of experience with running a business and the weight of responsibility that comes with it.
The importance of tech in developing countries and how life changing it can be cannot be understated. Unfortunately, tech usually isn’t built for the people there. I am a passionate advocate for accessible design and I’ve found that when we design with an inclusive mindset everyone benefits. I know accessibility and inclusivity is a hot talking point at the moment and it is a hot buzzword but it is something I truly value.
